A block warehouse is defined as a goods warehouse in which loading carrier (e. g. stackable pallets or stillages) are stacked on top of each other or next to each other without racks. In doing so, they form article-pure blocks so that direct removal is simplified. This type of storage offers unlimited storage capacity and, moreover, does not require a capacity check in the WMS. Due to the arrangement, such stocking is only useful if LIFO principle is followed.
