Batch management

Batch management refers in particular to the functional support of the legally required traceability of batches in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002, which initially requires the recording of the batch number in incoming goods (traceability from the supplier) and the exact monitoring of the storage location for internal transports. The batch is a stock-separating characteristic. If the batch has already left the warehouse, an assignment to the customer supplied is required (where-used list for customer). The “conversion” of free fields (for example, best-before date as batch number field) is usually not sufficient because it would no longer be possible to manage a batch with a best-before date.
