Batch


A batch is (besides the continuous article number) an additional identification of the article units. In most cases, a batch corresponds to a production lot. The batch is often used as an inventory-separating characteristic, since unacceptable differences can arise from production lot to production lot (e.g. tinting of wallpaper or wool) or the manufacturing and production conditions must be precisely traceable as a result of increased product liability.
