Kanban

The Kanban process describes a type of container management that intends a more efficient flow of materials across all manufacturing stages. In this process, each component used in the plant is stored as a “kanban card” or a container. The card serves as an information carrier that initiates control impulses in a control loop, e .g. automated replenishment according to consumption. It is therefore a decentralized and event-oriented production process control.
