Station principle

The station principle describes an order picking system based on a container conveyor technology in a warehouse. At the individual picking zones, so-called “stations” are placed, whose task is to eject the container circulating in the main flow, so that the picker can remove the required goods and then bring them back into the circuit. The container can now move to the next work station without interfering with the other picking operations or creating backlogs. In addition, through the station principle the picking performance can be increased.
