Hazardous substances

A hazardous substance is a substance which, if stored improperly, poses a risk to humans, animals or the environment. The storage of hazardous substances is subject to special requirements specified by laws and regulations. These requirements relate on the one hand to the control system in the storage area in order to be able to observe storage rules and on the other hand to the documentation of the stored substances. This is also the reason for the complexity and the enormous demands on the storage of materials with hazardous characteristics in multi-material warehouses. In such a warehouse, two areas must be considered to find an optimum: On the one hand, the logistical requirements for efficient storage processes and optimal use of available resources and space must be met. On the other hand, the safety and environmental requirements for the operation of such a plant must be strictly observed.
