Storage and retrieval machine


A storage and retrieval machine (SRM) is a rail-guided, single-track vehicle for serving the goods in a high-bay warehouse with an overall height of between approx. 6 meters and max. 46 meters. There are different types of SRMs: curve-going SRMs (can be used in the whole warehouse, also with switches), SRMs with transfer device for changing aisles and SRMs for only one aisle (aisle-bound). The degree of automation of SRMs can range from manual to fully automated.
