Consignment

In consignment, the material is still the property of the supplier after it has been received in the customer's warehouse. Only when the material is removed for consumption or resale does the ownership status with the customer change and a liability towards the supplier arise. The WMS is able to manage and differentiate the ownership status of material stocks (even for the same material from different vendors) and to control consumption so that one's own stocks are consumed or sold first before consignment stocks are accessed.
