Block warehouse

A block warehouse is defined as a goods warehouse in which loading carrier (e. g. stackable pallets or stillages) are stacked on top of each other or next to each other without racks. In doing so, they form article-pure blocks so that direct removal is simplified. This type of storage offers a high utilisation of storage capacity and is also usually carried out without a capacity check in the WMS. Due to the arrangement, this type of storage is usually operated according to the LIFO principle.
