The dock/yard management controls the processes on the yard and at the ramps of a warehouse location. It includes functions such as the notification and allocation of time frames for deliveries, ckecking in and out of trucks, truck recognition, truck management, parking position management, ramp planning, gate allocation, truck retrieval and relocation transports. In dock management, the ramps (docks) of the warehouse are managed by the WMS. For example, the WMS supports the assignment of a truck to a specific dock at a expected delivery time. The yard management manages the yard of the warehouse. The WMS manages the parking spaces on the yard and controls and monitors the transports between the individual points on the yard.
