Flexible flip-flop

In the case of flexible flip-flop, a number of additional locations are kept free in the access area in addition to the material access locations. When the reorder level of a material is reached, the system places the access reserve on these additional locations. As a result, the staging area of a material changes during the course of operation, thus requiring fewer staging areas overall.
